• 50 kg drums – 450 drums (22.5 tons) – easier for manual handling

• 100 kg drums – 225 drums (22.5 tons) – fewer drums, less steel

Many welding gas plants prefer 50 kg drums because workers can tip them into the generator hopper without a forklift. Tell us your preference.

Keep drums off concrete floors (use pallets). Store below 40°C, humidity under 50%. Away from water pipes. Always reseal after opening. In a dry warehouse, our calcium carbide for welding stays effective for 2 years. In humid coastal areas, use within 18 months.

Safety – Short and Direct

Water + calcium carbide for welding = acetylene gas. Acetylene + spark = explosion. Never open a drum in wet weather. Never use water on a spill – use dry sand. If a drum gets wet, evacuate. Do not move it.
